Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
BalticNOG exists to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and community building among internet network operators and related professionals. To maintain a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment, this Code of Conduct applies to all BalticNOG activities, spaces, and participants.
2. Scope
This Code applies to:
- All BalticNOG members, Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers,
- All event attendees, speakers, sponsors, and partners,
- All BalticNOG digital spaces, including mailing lists, forums, chat platforms, and social media,
- All official BalticNOG events and activities, whether online or in-person, including workshops, conferences, social gatherings, and meetings.

- Inclusivity – BalticNOG welcomes people from all backgrounds, identities, and perspectives.
- Constructive Collaboration – Knowledge grows when we listen, share, and work together.

4. Expected Behavior
- Treat others with respect, courtesy, and consideration, even in disagreement.
- Communicate in a constructive and inclusive way.
- Respect the neutrality of BalticNOG by avoiding hostile or excessively commercial conduct.
- Be responsible and mindful in all interactions, whether at events, online, or during informal gatherings.
- Respect the privacy and consent of others, especially when recording, photographing, or sharing information.
5. Unacceptable Behavior
Harassment, intimidation, stalking, or unwanted physical/verbal conduct.

6. Reporting Concerns
If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, you are encouraged to report it:
- By contacting any member of the BalticNOG Board of Directors or event organizers, or
- By emailing [email protected] (reports will be handled confidentially, to the extent legally and practically possible).
7. Enforcement
The person asked to stop unacceptable behavior must comply immediately. Violations may result in actions including:
- Verbal or written warnings,
- Removal from events or online platforms,
- Temporary or permanent bans from BalticNOG participation,
- Referral to relevant authorities in severe cases.
8. Commitment Against Retaliation
No person shall be penalized or retaliated against for reporting concerns in good faith.
9. Why This Matters
BalticNOG is built on trust, openness, and collaboration. By following this Code of Conduct, we ensure that:
- The community remains a safe and welcoming space,
- Knowledge and expertise can be shared openly,
- Our collective work strengthens the internet community in the Baltic region and beyond.
